Resignation

the imposing lodge on whose polished parquet i now am standing offers me not mere views through floor-to-ceiling plate glass windows but expansive vistas.

formerly, from mullioned panes in my small and tilting cottage, i would gaze with unspoken delight upon the setting sun and my very good fortune.

i was happy to be alive amidst simple things and pleasures.

here is a little story for you.

i have a cat that has always been a little feral and doesn't get along with the other cats socially.

one of my cats decided he was going to bully this poor guy and worry him sick.

this i did not know till recently.

buts a whole new meaning to "let us make man in our image.." no wonder all the kings of israel turned to other gods..

It is my observation that people do not really want to follow archeological evidence wherever it leads whether they are biblically oriented or academics. Humans form an idea and want to stick to it and anyone who upsets the applecart gets criticism. i'm not sure what happened here or what we really are but I'm interested in the search and archeological finds are fascinating and mysteries are plentiful.

The derisive term for the "annointed" - cracker eater:

i owe this one to palmtree (from an outside conversation):.

i had forgotten it, but way back in the late 1960s, when all the "real annointed" were pretty old, and the whole organization seemed to be run by the "other sheep" - i think somewhere between 1966 and 1968, i first ran into this term:.

"cracker eater" - a dispespectful term for the old, presumably senile, truly pre-1935 era jw annointed.. here is my nearly-forgotten story:.

proud that all his words were grand

One day the GB will arise

and run off with the money prize

the necks of witnesses will snap

i always loved getting away on winter break.

we usually went to florida and now i live in florida, so i vacation at home!

where did you go for your winter break?

We took a staycation at a local place that had a special tis the season deal. the place was over the top decorated and we had christmas eve dinner and in the morning their christmas brunch. THey also have a spa and I had a relaxing facial so it was great.

again,i want to tell you all how great it is to have you all here.its been an interesting year,with my mom moving in w/me permanently and dealing w/her leaving the jw's {at 83!!!

}.its been nice to come in here and read what yo are all up to,thanks to mr flipper and his beautiful mrs flipper,dreamgolfer and all of the others who have made this place so interesting for me.i think we are the true embodiment of what the dubs wish they had.unconditional frienmdship and support.so,i hope you all have a wonderful christmas,kwanza,festivus,or whatever,and remember,if anyone is ewver in maine?usa?let me know.id love to meet you!i live you all..even you,shamus!!!!!!lol!.

Do You Take Flu Shots?

i never have.

i seldom get the "flu" and if i do, it usually happens after everyone else has gotten it.. i know of many people who regularly get the flu shot and they seem to always still get sick..

I have a very strong immune system and don't get sick that often so no i never get a flu shot. However, a very strange thing happened once Me and my husband went to a park that was full of ducks and we sat near them on a bench and they were everywhere a couple of days later we both were flattened with a horrible flu and we both just laid there immobilized. i suspect we caught some weird bird flu and survived but that was the only flu I think I ever had.
